John You is a visual artist and designer currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
After undertaking a BA of Fine Art (Visual Art) at the University of Melbourne, his commitment to the arts began. It was at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology where You honed his skills in Footwear Design, completing a Certificate III and IV in Custom-Made Footwear.
In between studies, You's freelance work has taught him to combine the fields of art, culture, product and design.
This cross-disciplinary exploration and experimentation, combined with an interest in popular culture, informs You's inter-disciplinary practice today.
